Triple Layer Stamped Card using Flourishing Phrases from Stampin' Up!

Here's the final project from my July class: a simple triple-layer stamped card using Stampin' Up!'s Flourishing Phrases stamp set. We hadn't done triple-layer stamping in class before, somehow, and the looks on the faces of some of my lovely ladies were an absolute picture. They really underestimate themselves at times!

In truth, though, this is such an easy card to create, although the end result looks as if it takes a lot of work. essentially, you just assemble the three pieces of Whisper White cardstock without the in-between Bermuda Bay mats, and stamp across all three layers at once. Then, slot the mats in pace, glue it all together and there you are. Instant wow. My magic tip to make the stamping even easier is to use the teeniest drop of Tombow glue, and smear it on the back of each of the smaller two white layers. Wait for it to dry (you did know that Tombow is repositionable if you let it dry first, right?) and hey, presto! the mats hold together while you add the stamping, so you don't get hand-ache trying to hold it all still.

The ribbon's really pretty, although I'm not sure how well you can see it in the picture. It's the new 3/4" Mini Chevron Ribbon in Bermuda Bay, and has really fine little pale (white? blue?) chevrons running through it. Gorgeous. I don't think the catalogue picture does it justice - I ordered it so I could get a proper look at it, and I'm really glad I did.  Here's a close-up picture, so hopefully you can see it a bit better:

Pretty, isn't it? You can find details of everything used in this project in the links at the bottom of this blog post. Click on any item's name for more information.

So, that's all the projects from my July class shared. If you're in the Ipswich (UK) area, and you're free on the 26th August, you'd be very welcome to join us for the next one - you can find out more details, as well as seeing the rest of my 2017 class dates, by clicking here.

Changing the subject completely, I was so excited last night to get my Autumn Winter catalogue pre-order sorted out. I can't wait till they get here and I can start making samples! I've decided I want to do more Christmas fairs this year, and planned a lot of my pre-order around projects I have in mind for those. You're going to love them too, so do pop back and I'll share what I make as soon as Stampin' Up! and Mr UPS get all those lovely goodies to my door...

This year, you can get in on the pre-order action yourself, even if you're not a Stampin' Up! demonstrator like me. One of the brilliant bundles from the new catalogue is available NOW on early release, so you don't have to wait until September to get your hands on it. Click here for more information, and to have a look at a couple of cards that use the set.

Thanks for dropping in - I really appreciate your company. I'd love to you pop your comments, if you have any, in the box below. In the meantime, have a lovely day, and I'll see you again soon!
