About Sunshine Stamping

"I created Sunshine Stamping in 2010 as a place for crafters of all levels of experience to share their passion for crafting, and to find inspiration, support and superb crafting materials. I believe that everyone has the ability to create beautiful things, even if they have never thought of themselves as a creative person."  Becki Ritson, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, and Creator of Sunshine Stamping

Sunshine Stamping is run by Becki Ritson, an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and craft instructor since 2010*, with her ultra-supportive husband, Alan, by her side as Supporting Demonstrator. Based on the outskirts of Ipswich, Becki offers papercrafting classes and one-to-one tuition, as well as Stampin' Up! parties (the perfect blend of shopping and crafting!). She is also in demand as a demonstrator and presenter at meetings of organisations such as craft clubs and Women's Institutes.

The Beginnings of Sunshine Stamping

This is Becki's second career. Having practised as a Solicitor in the UK for twelve years - a job she loved - Becki was forced to retire from the law at the age of just 36 after being diagnosed for the second time with M.E. Bedridden for a couple of years, then wheelchair-bound for a couple more, Becki turned to papercrafting as a way of avoiding the incessant boredom of daytime television. It was a hobby she had dabbled in when working, but there had been very little time for hobbies previously; now she began to depend on it more and more as a way of keeping her spirits up when she could do very little. When she eventually began to be able to think about what she wanted to do with the rest of her life, she decided to turn the hobby that had saved her from the depths of depression, into something more and started to look around for opportunities that would work around her illness. At the time she was still sleeping for more hours of the day than she was awake, so being employed was not an option - employers don't tend to take kindly to employees dozing off on the job!

Winning an internet prize draw gave Becki her first contact with Stampin' Up! products, and Becki realised instantly that here was something very different from what was available on the high street. She began looking into the business opportunity offered by Stampin' Up! and became very excited about the possibilities it afforded. She and Alan were recently married and had just moved into their first home together when Becki joined Stampin' Up! as an Independent Demonstrator in May 2010. Knowing no-one other than her husband, Becki decided to hold an Open House event and gave invitations to anyone and everyone she could find - in bus queues, at the local shops, even knocking on all the doors in her new area to introduce herself to people. Six people came to that first event and Sunshine Stamping was born!
